Where did Summer Go?

Oh I would give anything to be back in the days of summer! I absolutely love it! It takes me soo long to get use to school and teaching again. I really have a pretty easy job, but I just really love summer and everything that goes with it. I went this past weekend for labor day weekend to the beach again, with my roommates from college and her family. We had a blast, but I had to spend 8 hours in a car trying to get home. That part wasn't fun! Not sure if I'll make the trek again next year. One of my really good friends had her baby this weekend as well. The baby's name is Allison Johannah. They didn't know what they baby was going to be. Everyone thought it was going to be a boy, but it turned out to be a girl! I went to see her today. I really wish I could have been there this weekend while she was at the hospital. I'm going to make it a mission to pray for her and husband and new baby everyday. She is plannign to stay at home and I know it's going to be hard them financially, but she'll never get this time back with her child. I know they can definitely make it if they just put their trust in the Lord. Another area that I'm praying about is my roommate from college. She needs the Lord. She has everything going for her in our life, except her spiritual side and being close to God. I'm not sure if she prays, so I'm going to pray for her that she will accept Christ one day and that I'll be the right friend and witness to her. This is what's been on my heart lately....

Good Cold Water!

I have been going to the river to swim these past few days and man does it feel good!! Tomorrow I"m going to Steele Creek with my friend Kim and her family. I love where I live, b/c it's just a 5 min. or less drive and I'm at the river with my cuzin! My cousin and I both married best friends and that's great b/c we're best friends! We grew up on the same dirt road and now we live just a short drive from each other. The Lord is good! And we get to go to the same church, although we had to leave our home churches. Anyways, this swimming hole has a long dirt road that we could drive down to, but their is a gate and the lock was changed, so we can't just open it as we please anymore. So we have to go down three hills to get to the river and then climb back up those three hills on our way back. I bought some floats today at Dollar General so we blowed them up and went to floating! Steele Creek is a big campground up 181. It has a big beach area that you can lay out in the sun and two diving boards. We're not going to camp, we're just going to spend the day there!! Can't wait!

School's Out, Summer's Here

Thank goodness summer is here! Summer school is already going full force though. It was really hectic trying to get the work done for school while I still had to work. I'm starting to get a little caught up! Another thing I need to get caught up on is my garden. It has exploted! We put chicken menure on it and with all the rain and more rain that we've had, everything just keeps blooming. I went out there today with a bag...and well my bad wasn't big enough! We've planted corn, green beans, squash, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, potatoes, radishes, peas, okra, and a few other things. People don't realize how much work it is to take care of a garden. I can and freeze just about everything in it. It really saves us a lot of money by doing this and plus I love veggies!

Another thing I'm doing this summer is water aerobics. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before. I finally went on this past Monday after a month break from it. They took off the bubble on the pool, then it started raining every afternoon so it was cancelled. Then summer school started back, so not that I'm not working at the middle school I'll have time to go in the mornings and class stuff at night.

This has been my first week off of school and absolutely love it! I think I could stay at home all the time. This is one of my goals in life and something I've prayed about for a long time that I"ll be able to stay at home with my children. I know it may not work out on paper, but I think we'll be ok financially. We'll both just have to give up a lot and not eat out as much. I know if I don't stay at home I will regret it , b/c you'll never get those early stages of your kids back.

I really need to post more often so I can remember what I wrote the last time!!

Exhausted

Well for the past three days so far I have been planting flowers and planting more flowers!! I've been to Lowe's twice and I've bought over two hundred dollars worth of perennials! So hopefully in the next few months my 8 flower beds will be full of life! Jeremy has been after me to fill them up with lots of color. So I finally started on it. I had to do some research first. I really had no idea what and where I should put flowers. I planted bulbs last fall...but that doesn't fill up the beds up enough. So I went to Lowe's and just started looking on the tags. I tried to find stuff that lasts from spring to fall or blooms in the Summer. Now I just have to remember to water everything! I still have some daylilies that my aunt gave me, but I'm not sure where to plant them. Because I'm running out of sunny spots for them. Oh we'll see! I would love to go buy some hanging baskets now and some annuals, but we'll have to see how the funds are!

I so don't want to go back to work on Monday. This week off has been great! I did have two workdays, but I really didn't work that hard. Being off like this makes me DUN for and lazy. I'm going to have to pull it together somehow come Monday morning though for 5 more weeks. :)

First Post

Well first of all my name is Emily. I'm finally breaking down and making a real blog about myself. Right now I have three other blogs for my graduate school classes. I think this is a great way to reflect about anything and everything. This is what we have to do in class with things that we are learning and our feelings towards what is going on in our lives. I wanted to create a blog that is just about my life. I have always kept some type of journal, but now this is the electronic version I guess.

So a little about myself. I am married to a wonderful hubby named Jeremy. We have almost been married for three years. We met and married exactly one year to the date! August 12, 2006. Anyways..I'm working on my master's in library science through ASU. I started last fall and it has gone pretty good so far. I'm ready to wrap up another semester though.

Right now I'm on Easter break! And it feels great! I love being off from school! I can't wait to not have to work a full time job and stay at home and raise my babies. So of course I pray all the time that God will bless me lost of babies! I'm not sure when I'll use my MLS degree...maybe never, maybe part-time while I stay at home. Who knows!

Well that's enough rambling for now!
